- Compose engaging and informative social media posts
- Draft and distribute newsletters to various stakeholders
- Edit and proofread written content for accuracy and consistency
- Research and gather information for journalistic pieces
- Conduct interviews and gather quotes for news articles
- Adhere to journalistic standards and ethics in all written materials
- Collaborate with the Director of Media and Communications to ensure that all communications related to CAAS, its reputation, messages, and top-priority initiatives are well written, communicated, and promoted.
- Assist employees throughout the CAAS with strategic communications as assigned.
- Interact with the CAAS employees most commonly in:
- Brainstorming sessions to decide the direction of communication projects
- Conducting interviews serving as a basis for news and feature stories
- Handling inquiries and final editing negotiations to ensure accuracy and alignment with objectives for published pieces
Minimum Education | A bachelor's degree is required in mass communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field. |
Minimum Experience | A minimum of 5 years of experience as a news reporter in communications, marketing, public relations, or a media environment is required; experience in an academic environment is preferred. An advanced degree is preferred. |
