The primary responsibilities of this position include designing, strategic planning, and implementation of a comprehensive college advancement and fund development program for the RCTC Foundation. in addition to serving as the Development Officer and having responsibility for external relations, this position provides leadership for marketing and recruitment, external and public relations, friend raising, fund raising gifts and grants, and alumni association development. The position is responsible for identifying, cultivating and personally soliciting businesses, corporations and individuals to make significant gifts to the RCTC Foundation and the College.
Salary Range:
$28.26-$41.43
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of successful experience in fundraising (including market research, advertising, public relations, etc.), preferably in higher education.
Experience working with a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Ability to influence, persuade, understand and work collaboratively with others in team situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Knowledge of and skill in identifying, researching, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts and campaigns.
High level of customer-based development relations skills, entrepreneurial spirit, strong speaking and writing skills, superior organizational and administrative skills.
Knowledge of and skill in mass media and social media communications (including principles and techniques).

Rochester Community and Technical College was founded in 1915 on a motion by Dr. Charles Mayo to the Rochester School Board. Rochester is Minnesota's oldest - and one of the nation's oldest - original community colleges. The 2005-2006 academic year marked RCTC's 90th anniversary. The college serves approximately 7,500 students in credit-based enrollments and 3,000 in noncredit courses.
