Position Summary:
The Program Coordinator will support the Straus Center, YU Press, and YU Honors through a blend of marketing, communications, and event management responsibilities. This role leads social media strategy and execution across multiple platforms, including content creation, account management, and the maintenance of a digital archive of articles, podcasts, and multimedia materials. The coordinator also collaborates with internal teams to update websites and promote publications.
In addition, the role provides comprehensive logistical support for events and trips, including planning, vendor coordination, communications, and on-site execution. The coordinator helps ensure smooth delivery of lectures, workshops, student activities, and domestic and international travel, while also contributing to post-event evaluation and continuous improvement.
Position Responsibilities:
Marketing and Communications
Work with relevant department leads to create and manage overall social media calendar for Straus Center, YU Press, and YU Honors
Create and manage social media accounts for YU Press and YU Honors, and manage existing Straus Center social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram)
Maintain an archive of YU Press and Straus Center articles, podcasts, videos, and other content for sharing
Create original and creative content for social media accounts that furthers the Straus Center, YU Press, and YU Honors missions
Draft releases for YU Press publications
Work with the YU website team to update and refresh the Straus Center, YU Press, and YU Honors websites
Event and Trip Management
Provide additional event and trip coordination support to relevant department leads, including reserving and managing venues, coordinating catering orders, and assisting with vendor payment processing
Plan logistics for diverse events, including lectures, workshops, receptions, student activities, and domestic and international trips
Serve as on-site support for in-person events and trips
Manage event flier creation and distribution process
Communicate event details to students, faculty, and staff through multiple channels
Assist with post-event reports and recommendations for improvement
Other Responsibilities
Support the preparation of sources for seminars and other courses as needed
Experience & Education Background:
Bachelor's Degree Required
Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of the Jewish community and its trends
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
Strong project management and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)
Proficiency in social media trends, strategies, and platforms
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to anticipate needs
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
Creative problem-solving abilities and adaptability
Customer service orientation with professional demeanor
Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Salary Range:
$35.42 - $45.54 per hour
