Provide innovative leadership and management for Center and stakeholders. Develop a strategic plan for the Center's mission and provide support for change.
Build and support transformational networks between education, industry, community and other key stakeholders.
Develop and maintain partner organizations.
Develop and implement revenue generation and alternative funding strategies to achieve a self-sustaining operation.
Promote the Center to communities, education partners, and industry.
Research trends, utilize data analytics and evaluate alternative methods for programing delivery and ideas to inform strategies to further develop the Center.
Develop project management plan for tracking, recording and ensuring compliance for approved projects.
2. Center Oversight
Lead and guide the Center team. Manage/coordinate the efforts of the various partner structures, including the Healthcare Education Industry Partnership Council, including providing leadership and guidance to faculty and industry partners engaged in Center projects.
Align expenditures, staff efforts and other Center resources with strategic priorities and the strategic business plan.
Assess the performance of the Center at meetings its goals.
Actively plan, organize and direct operations and activities for the Center to achieve organizational success. Includes establishing timelines, measures of success, and compliance.
Ensure compliance with grant requirements, Winona State University and Minnesota State regulations, policies and procedures, and applicable federal and state laws.
Meet regularly with the President to review Center work and ensure accountability to the Center's mission, maintain an alignment of goals, evaluate resource utilization and ensure continuing progress in evaluation and tracking success measures.
Develop and implement internal department policies and procedures to provide accountability, structure and balance for the Center.
3. Communication Engagement and Promotion
Develop records, reports and other communication tools to promote and document the Center's efforts and successes.
Assess Center data, identify trends, and report on progress toward goals.
Coordinate communication and information between community, business, faculty, students, and governmental entities.
Build partnerships with healthcare organizations, K-12 schools, two-year community and/or technical colleges, universities, associations, state agencies, and other constituencies to strengthen the Center's mission.
Serve as a visible advocate for HealthForce, representing the Center at various meetings and events including the preparation and delivery of presentations.
Partner with University Marketing and Communications to provide effective marketing, communication and public relations that build the Center's image.
Work with the media as needed to publicize and promote the Center and its initiatives.
4. Budget and Resource Management
Develop and manage the Center's budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to support Center goals.
Secure external funding and partnerships to support Center initiatives. Identify and develop alternative funding sources and revenue generation with the goal of creating a self-sustaining operation. Responsibilities may include grant writing oversight, partnerships with industry, community and government agencies.
5. Other Responsibilities
Participate in the management of the University as a member of the President's Council of Administrators.
Perform other duties as assigned by the President to advance the Center.
Salary Range: $102,836 - $164,989; commensurate with qualifications and experience
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Education Administration, Education Leadership, Business Administration or a field closely related to the essential functions of the position.
Five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in the healthcare academic environment, and/or healthcare practice environment.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders; effective relationship management.
Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships and partnerships among higher education and healthcare entities.
Solid experience with strategic planning, transformational change and change management processes.
Understanding marketing strategies and implementation.
Experience with financial management and revenue development including grant writing and grant administration. Experience with budget development and management.
Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities effectively.
Familiarity with state/federal government healthcare policy and the education and healthcare industries in the State of Minnesota.
Work with diverse audiences.
Evidence of innovation and creative thinking, interpreting abstract ideas and forming specific measurable outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to establish measures, analyze data and meet outcomes; data-driven decision-making.
Knowledge of current trends in healthcare industry and higher education practices.
Preferred Qualification
A degree in a health-related field and/or in business fields.
