The Athletics Communications Graduate Assistant helps the Athletics Communications team in telling the stories of University of San Francisco (USF) Athletics through media, web, digital content and other forms of communications; works with game management to successfully host home athletics events; has a particular emphasis on content creation, statistics and communications for teams as assigned by the Athletics Communications staff.
JOB DETAILS:
This position will serve as the primary media/sports information contact for women's soccer, cross country/track & field, and beach volleyball. Working on weekends and nights required. Travel may be required as needed. This is a 9-month position beginning in August/September 2025 and ending in May/June 2026.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as the primary media contact for women's soccer, cross country/track & field, and beach volleyball
Oversee all social media content (X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn) and assist in the creation of content, including graphics and video, for primary sports with an emphasis on creative story telling
Manage content on usfdons.com including press releases, photos, bios and schedules for primary sports
Assist in the production of graphic content for usfdons.com and respective social media channels
Manage game day/meet day operations for primary sports and assist in game operations for other sports as needed
Maintain historical records, statistics and archives for primary sports
Assist with website work and projects for the USF Athletics Hall of Fame
Other duties as assigned, including various research projects and game operations
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree
Preferred qualifications of experience in intercollegiate athletics communications/sports information work (student experience accepted)
Priority will be given to those with experience in a communications/sports information office
Experience in Adobe Creative Suite - Lightroom, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.
Experience in writing and social media (X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn)
Familiarity with NCAA Live Stats/Stat Crew software
Self-motivated, strong work ethic and strong communications skills
Possess the ability to meet deadlines
