What Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) contributes to Cardinal Health
Strategy is responsible for leadership, direction and expertise in the development of business strategy, strategic management disciplines and business analytics that support the company's mission vision and valuation objectives, in close collaboration with business leaders.
Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) sets enterprise strategies and manages programs to mitigate environmental, social and governance-related risks across the business, and identify opportunities, in collaboration with others across the company. ESG supports enterprise goalsetting by tracking and reporting on progress against the enterprise ESG strategy and goals. ESG manages stakeholder engagement, which includes employees, customers, investors, and others, as it relates to ESG topics.
Responsibilities
Data Collection and Analysis
Be a primary point of contact and owner of our reporting platform, Salesforce Net Zero Cloud.
Ensure the accurate and timely gathering and analysis of environmental data across business units to clearly identify trends and opportunities for improvement across energy, water, and waste data reported by facilities.
Develop dashboards and reports to monitor sustainability performance metrics at the enterprise, business, and regional levels.
Provide support to field teams regarding questions and issues with environmental metrics reporting, including setup and training of new hires.
Explore options to streamline or implement automation features to expedite data collection, while maintain data accuracy and controls. Including but not limited to API?s or bulk data uploads.
Project Support
Collaborate with cross functional teams on sustainability projects and initiatives, specifically providing support for energy efficiency, on-site solar and renewable energy credit (REC) tracking, and related sustainability projects at the facility level.
Support the development on sustainability focused working groups including, but not limited to Scope 1 and 2 Emissions Working Groups, site led Sustainability Initiative Groups
Conduct research on emerging sustainability trends, regulations, best practices, and potential impacts on Cardinal Health.
Support carbon footprint calculations, lifecycle assessments, and other impact analyses across the business.
Reporting & Compliance
Support the preparation of environmental data for public disclosures, including annual Sustainable Business report, CDP, GRI, SASB, TCFD, and other relevant frameworks.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity for internal and external reporting, including supporting external assurance data preparation and inquiry responses.
Support key business partners in tracking and reporting data for regulatory compliance benchmarking across the U.S., and support in designing a process to track, interpret, comply, and report with such regulations.
Support in monitoring changes in the Scope 2 guidance of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and understanding the implications as it relates to Cardinal Health?s decarbonization roadmap.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in sustainability or data analysis role, supporting ESG reporting or related program or function preferred.
Bachelor?s degree preferred, Master?s degree preferred, in sustainability or related topic. Consideration given to backgrounds in computer/data science.
Deep understanding of Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Standard and other relevant reporting frameworks preferred.
Demonstrated track record of developing and delivering qualitative and quantitative environmental sustainability reporting. Domestic and international experience preferred but not required.
Experience managing consistent and accurate data collection, developing data controls, and leveraging or building IT solutions as applicable.
Strong analytical experience in Excel, Power BI, Tableau or similar tools
Knowledge of or experience with Agentforce Net Zero (previously Salesforce Net Zero Cloud) or other Salesforce applications is strongly preferred.
Consideration given for experience with Lightning Web Components, Javascript, Apex, SAQL or other scripting languages to support automation of data intake.
Proven ability to analyze, interpret and translate large sets of data into simple insights or reports.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Proven ability to balance multiple projects and competing priorities.
Analytic thinker and ability to problem-solve.
Proven ability to inspire, collaborate and manage internal relationships and cultivate partnerships across functions and regions.
