The University of North Alabama is accepting applications for the position of Head Coach of Men’s Golf. North Alabama is an NCAA Division I member that successfully competes in the ASUN Conference. This position is responsible for all phases of the Men’s Golf program including recruiting quality student-athletes, monitoring the academic success of student-athletes, game preparation and strategy, supervising assistant coaches, scheduling, attending meetings with alumni, enhancing public relations, organizing camps and clinics, fundraising, budget, adhering to NCAA and ASUN rules and regulations, and other general administrative duties. In addition, the Head Coach will be responsible for supporting the philosophy, goals, and mission of both the University and its intercollegiate athletics program.

Minimum qualifications include: bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree is preferred; fundraising experience preferred; experience working in a leadership role in a collaborative environment is preferred; successful coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred; strong, working knowledge of the sports skills and training methods is required; preference is given to candidates with prior experience in recruiting, fiscal management skills, organizational skills, and communication skills; a current, valid driver’s license in good standing is required; and a CPR certification, renewed annually, is required.

The North Alabama Lions are the athletic teams of UNA. The Lions are a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and compete within the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) for all sports save for football, in which they are a founding member of the United Athletic Conference (UAC). The University has a total of fourteen (14) varsity sports teams, six men’s teams and eight women’s teams. The men’s teams include baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, tennis, and both indoor/outdoor track & field.
