The role you’ll contribute:
Reporting to the Campus COO, the Director of Operations provides leadership and oversight to assigned clinical and support departments for day-to-day operations. Leads in managing to metrics, mentoring leadership, and ensuring team engagement. Leads campus initiatives and projects as assigned and participates in regional/divisional strategy deployment and performance improvement efforts. Collaborates with key stakeholders and/or third-party affiliates to prepare time and cost estimates for assigned projects, tracks projects against proposed timelines and escalates encountered situations to the appropriate area with detail and accuracy. In partnership with the COO, collaborates with Business Development and Institutes to grow and optimize service lines and elevate physician relations. Promotes and actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are respectful to all persons.

•Provides operational leadership for assigned departments and projects.
•Leads team engagement and improvement activities across departments.
•Evaluates each area to assess that peak performance is being attained. Design and implement tactics to enhance quality, productivity, and cost.
•Supports training programs to ensure all staff is knowledgeable of current codes and regulations with regulatory agency requirements (AHCA, DNV) and with internal policies and procedures.
•Budgetary responsibility for departments, including monthly reviews and adherence to metrics and hospital improvement activities.
•Establishes proactive business plans, long range capital project and equipment planning needs for assigned departments.
•Provides strategic input and administrative oversight of day-to-day operations.
•Develops and creates ideas, processes and approaches that shape the future, takes risks and makes decisions based on facts. Uses analysis and critical thinking skills to solve problems and ensures that decisions are aligned with strategic directions of the market.
•Leads the coordination, tracking and accountability cycle for key commitments and strategic projects, providing progress reports and updates to the Executive Team.
•Consistently looks for areas of cost improvement while maintaining high performance and customer satisfaction.
•Supports and encourages professional development through participation in educational programs and professional organizations, and activities to maintain knowledge of national trends and to promote leading edge performance.
•Establishes relationships with leaders in other departments. Responds quickly to expressed needs or deficiencies and resolves service issues. Establishes relationships with peers within the industry, use benchmarking to improve processes and outcomes.
•In partnership with COO, collaborates with Business Development and Institutes to improve service line growth, physician relations and overall market share.
•Promotes good staffing practices by maximizing the utilization of human resources; forecasts and anticipates staffing needs with regard to fluctuations in the projected workload.
•Builds capabilities within departments by coaching, developing, evaluating, and mentoring.
•Provides leadership for disaster preparedness activities and activation plans in the event of a disaster.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED:
•Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals
•Strong organization skills to handle multiple priorities and projects; able to manage financial, clinical, service, team, and market activities to meet goals in an organized, prioritized fashion •Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of executives, employees, physicians and other contacts, while appropriately and discreetly handling confidential information
•Ability to manage multiple projects, roles, and departments simultaneously
•Ability to organize and integrate multiple organizational priorities and deadlines across many departments at one time
•Ability to research, prepare comprehensive reports, and recommend and implement successful strategies
•Ability to develop and initiate, in conjunction with executives and physicians, operational strategies to improve the performance of the hospital
•Excellent financial analysis skills with the ability to read, analyze and report on financial statements and market reports
•Strategic planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
•Ability to effectively make decisions and perform under stressful situations
•Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading diverse work teams
•Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff, leadership, physicians, patients, vendors, and customers of varying backgrounds in a professional manner
•Knowledge of change management and/or organizational behavior theory/experience
•Competence in the latest computing software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office program: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
•Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field of study.
•Four (4) years of healthcare experience in a professional role
•Two (2) years leadership experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
•High level of business acumen, including the ability to balance the delivery of programs against the realities of a budget, problem solving, project management, and creative resourcefulness
