What you’ll be doing...
The Associate Creative Director (ACD) - Art Director is responsible for development of compelling, creative omnichannel concepts and high-quality designed content that is on-brand and on-strategy, across a large variety of print and digital media specifically geared towards Verizon-owned channels. This includes creating groundbreaking concepts that will help generate positive impressions of the Verizon brand within social channels, to bring the Verizon brand closer to culture. The ACD Art Director must exhibit outstanding conceptual and design skills and work collaboratively with the writing and design team in achieving the highest possible standards to ensure quality in visual consistency and timeliness of material. The ACD Art Director is responsible for supporting the Creative Directors, creative peers and marketing team in developing marketing collateral and internal communications materials for clients. The ACD needs working knowledge of clients’ business challenges to address specific marketing objectives as defined by the brief. For select assignments, the ACD will also be expected to help manage production teams in executing the work.
Leads in directing and executing the design of marketing assets as prescribed by creative/marketing briefs.
Provides creative direction on small-and large-scale projects from creative conception to completion.
Brainstorms and strategizes with an integrated creative team to help develop creative direction with a focus on the look and feel of marketing materials.
Helps convert rough ideas into visual prototypes (e.g., sketches, layout drafts) to illustrate concepts for creative reviews.
Recommends, researches and develops imagery (e.g., photography, illustration) to support creative strategy and execution.
Collaborates with writing team to artfully build creative solutions to address specific project objectives.
Directs and is accountable for the final development and production of creative assets and ensures accuracy, attention to details and overall meets or exceeds the design objectives.
Ensures brand guidelines and brand voice are embraced and adhered to across all executions.
Supports the Creative Directors and creative team in developing creative strategies and concepts for omnichannel creative.
Plays an active role in contributing conceptual ideas in brainstorms or offline creative development.
Works to improve the team’s overall performance and embraces a collaborative approach.
Provides visible support for leadership and helps build a unified team mindset.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience as an art director or graphic designer.
Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud software.
A portfolio of relevant work samples.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
A degree in Design, Advertising, or related field.
Eight or more years of relevant work experience, with some industry awards.
Knowledge of design applications in traditional and emerging channels.
Knowledge of design language and execution.
Knowledge of photography development, execution, and curation.
Ability to contribute in developing initial creative strategies to address core marketing and business objectives.
Ability to actively participate in the ideation process leveraging research, analytics and brand insights.
Willingness to state opinions clearly and can verbally describe visual concepts.
Willingness to produces work that adheres to brand guidelines, but also explores new interpretations of the brand and develops out-of-the-box approaches to grow the visual identity of the brand.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and directions.
Knowledge of that all projects require attention to detail so that work is on-time, on-budget, and on-strategy.
Forward thinking mindset in anticipation of business objectives.
