Full Time - Student Information Specialist II
The Blinn College District is searching for a Full Time - Student Information Specialist II at our RELLIS Campus.

Job Summary
The Student Information Specialist II will assist students, parents, faculty and staff on all Blinn College campuses via telephone, web, at the front counter and email with their admissions, registration, financial aid, advising, housing, payments, and student account questions, as well as assist staff with data entry in specific offices.
Principal Accountabilities
- Assist students in the admissions and registration processes including, but not limited to, collecting and tracking admissions paperwork, assisting students with registration problems, processing TSI information, selling test tickets (TSIA2, ATI TEAS, etc.), and processing transcript requests.
- Answer questions and provide information about Blinn College via email, chat, telephone, and in person regarding all Academic programs, specifically areas of Admissions, Academic Advising, Housing, Student ID, Business Services, Prospective Student Relations, and Financial Aid, and properly refer and redirect questions to Workforce Education for our Technical and Workforce Education programs.
- Collect payments for Student Services, including tuition and fees, room and board, parking permits, parking citations, copy services, testing fees, and refer students to the library to pay library fees and prepare daily reconciliation reports and bank deposits.
- Assist students with questions about their payment accounts and facilitate contact with the Business Office if students need higher-level assistance.
- Assist in monitoring and processing forms in Dynamic Forms.
- Assist with collecting and distributing International Forms such as I-20s.
- Process and issue student and employee ID Cards for all campuses. Responsible for inventory of supplies for ID machine and printer.
- Assists the Dual Credit Programs department as follows. Tracks required enrollment documents, registers students, enters TSDS numbers, test scores, FAST, ECHS, and PTECH waivers, and BAC MEN. Enters and updates holds. Indexes documents. Maintains missing items lists and additional records.
- Maintains lobby area and alerts Maintenance as needed for work orders and emergency issues regarding the building.
- Monitor office supply use for department and alert supervisory staff when low on required supplies.
- Assist and educate students regarding their myBlinn account and registration.
- Work cooperatively with other Student Services Departments as instructed by supervisory staff (Manager, Director, Dean, etc.).
- Responsible for opening/closing and securing the Enrollment Services department front counter.
- Conducts special projects and assignments as directed (such as NSR, International Student Orientation, Preview Day, etc.).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Two years of professional customer service experience.
Minimum Competencies
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent public relation skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel and other software programs which may be applicable in college admissions setting.
- Ability to manage multiple competing tasks in a high-traffic front counter environment while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Ability to organize effectively and to work with limited direct supervision.
- Ability to work limited night and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cash handling experience preferred.
- Experience working in higher education admissions office and/or business office.
Preferred Competencies
- Experience with Banner software.
- Experience with multiline phone software.
- Experience with financial aid.
- Some college coursework.
Special Notes To Applicants
This is a 40 hour a week, on campus position.
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
This is a 12 month, benefits-eligible position. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full-time employees, 50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurance benefits. Yearly leave time includes:
96 hours vacation
40 hours discretionary
