Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates all phases of a competitive intercollegiate women’s wrestling program. Serves as the public face of the program, creating and maintaining a positive public image while recruiting and training student-athletes to compete at the highest level possible. Understands the role of NCAA and Division III athletics in the educational process and supports the athletic department in creating a positive environment for student-athletes. Demonstrates the ability to promote the physical, intellectual, and social growth and well-being of student-athletes. Recruits quality student-athletes, who embody the values of Elmhurst University and represent it well in all contexts. Covers one or more secondary responsibilities in the athletic department, which will be determined by departmental need and the related background of the successful candidate.
Supervises and operates all phases of a competitive Division III women’s wrestling program.
Coordinates the recruitment of student-athletes for the women’s wrestling program, contributing significantly to the enrollment effort of both the institution and the athletic department.
Prepares annual budget structure and monitors expenditures.
Maintains and updates a sufficient inventory of equipment. Selects and orders equipment and other material needed to successfully run a program. Oversees the issuing and collecting of all equipment, uniforms, supplies, and materials.
Develops the contest schedule and coordinates all team travel arrangements.
Supervises all team activities throughout traditional and non-traditional segments, including team planning sessions and long-range planning sessions with assistant coaches.
Plans, organizes, and administers all in-season practice sessions.
Conducts all on-mat coaching of the women’s wrestling program during intercollegiate contests.
Assigns responsibilities to and supervises all work of assistant coaches.
Counsels student-athletes and facilitates both short- and long-range goal-setting. This includes academic monitoring, academic advising, and suggesting on campus resources to support individuals and the team.
Contributes to the retention efforts of the institution and athletic department.
Develops and implements fund-raising projects as approved. Assists in department-wide fund-raising projects.
Collaborates with the Director of Athletic Communications pertaining to all media relations, providing information for the promotional needs of game programs, team media guides, recruiting brochures and other publications.
Maintains positive public relations with the community through an assortment of events including camps and clinics.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of Elmhurst University, NCAA, CCIW and rules and regulations and adheres to NCAA Compliance Regulations.
Endorses and supports other sports within the Athletic Department and fulfills other secondary duties as outlined.
Interacts with all other institutional constituencies and actively participates in their events.
Performs various summer duties and special projects as assigned.

SPECIAL NOTATION:
Staff members must possess a commitment and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of Elmhurst University, the CCIW and the NCAA. Staff members must cooperate with and furnish the NCAA, the CCIW and/or Elmhurst University with truthful and complete information concerning involvement in or knowledge of rules violations. Any person who is found in violation of NCAA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or correction actions a set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures, including suspension without pay or termination of employment for significant or repeated violations.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employee is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions (temperatures varying from below 32 degrees to over 90 degrees) for periods of over one hour, subject to hazards such as proximity to moving parts, electrical current, etc., and involves heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds constantly in order to move objects. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and lift 50 pounds. Must be able to be fitted with and wear a respirator. Must be willing to work overtime, including weekends, as required.
