Provide high-level design solutions for a variety of integrated communications projects across multiple digital, online, publishing and marketing media platforms, including online magazine/publication sites, online email marketing services and e-newsletters, interactive applications and other online interfaces with strong emphasis on online solutions (i.e., branding, design development, and technical implementation of University publications, online marketing email services, websites as well as other online, print and video projects).
Essential Duties:
Designs innovative and comprehensive visual and functional solutions for digital media and online publishing platforms, marketing email platforms, and new and current websites.
Develops functional micro-site environments, online promotions, ad banners, e-newsletters, e-invites, online emails, interactive applications and other online interfaces.
Develops coherent information architecture and navigation systems for complex, multi-level publications, digital applications and sites with multiple sections and cross-linking pages.
Utilizes best-case design and usability practices to enhance the end-user interface experience. Ensures projects incorporate all stakeholder requirements, employs best practices in user interface, navigation, usability, accessibility, search engine optimization, and works in all browser platforms (both PC and Mac for desktop and mobile).
Collaborates closely with other developers on implementing static and interactive designs. Shepherds design and review process from wireframes and storyboards to digital presentation comps to final executed products.
Designs and produces graphics, templates, and icons for use in related communication projects, including digital and online publications, magazine and publications sites, internal newsletters, which integrate links to other websites, graphics, video, etc. Follows defined branding guidelines as required.
Follows project specifications and adheres to production schedules and budgets for all assigned projects.
Creates and updates documentation relating to project status, process, location of media assets and use.
Stays abreast of current trends in digital/online graphic design, usability and information architecture, including current and evolving aesthetics with demonstrated mastery of typography, color theory and use of space.
