About the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies (SLU):
The CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Labor Studies and Urban and Community Studies that are designed to meet the needs of working adults as well as traditional-age college students who seek to learn more about the challenges confronting poor and working-class populations in the workplace and in the community. It also collaborates with other units of CUNY to offer a range of college-credit programs designed to give workers the academic and technical skills they need for professional advancement. Its faculty includes distinguished scholars in the social sciences as well as expert practitioners in government, labor, and public service.
This position is excluded from the union.
Reporting to the HR Generalist, the HR Coordinator supports core Human Resources services and systems at the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies. Key responsibilities include:
Coordinate and audit HR services and systems to ensure compliance with University policies and procedures.
Review and verify timesheets for payroll processing, collaborate with appropriate units to ensure accurate and timely payments.
Monitor and maintain the time and leave system.
Processes employment verifications, tuition waivers and requests from outside agencies and vendors.
Responds to employee inquiries and escalates issues as appropriate, ensuring timely and professional resolution.
Enter data into HR systems such as CUNYFirst, PayServ, and auxiliary platforms; generates reports as needed.
Supports on-boarding and off-boarding processes, including conducting new hire orientations.
Maintain employee personnel files and HR records in compliance with University policies, ensuring confidentiality.
Assists with special projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required.

Provides information and services to the College community to support the Human Resources function.
Prepares and executes various personnel transactions involving employee recordkeeping, processing of new hires, pay administration, and recruiting
Maintains an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to human resources
Organizes and processes employee information; develops and maintains reports and queries; assures data accuracy and completeness
Responds to requests for information; troubleshoots issues, follows up and responds to employee inquiries
Assists HR managers with employee communications of all kinds; may prepare materials, conduct orientation sessions, or update web pages
Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary range is $68, 668 - $77, 269, commensurate with education and experience.
