Overview
University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.
The Director, Alumni Events will plan and execute various domestic and regional alumni events and outreach efforts designed to engage NYU alumni. Lead a team to drive the strategy, management, execution, and results of the student and recent alumni vertical in UDAR. Oversee the successful planning and launch of virtual and in-person programming tailored for alumni, while maintaining strategic oversight of all signature alumni events, including the NYU Awards, Alumni Weekend, and alumni conferences. Drive the long-term event strategy and planning, ensuring continuous improvement and impact across all alumni engagement initiatives. Partner with internal stakeholders and alumni leadership to enhance programming, foster strong alumni relationships, and measure the success of all alumni-focused activities.

Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: 7+ years relevant event management experience including supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Experience: 7+ years experience in an academic, non-profit and/or development environment
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Proficiency with MS Office and PowerPoint
Exposure to fundraising software, such as BBCRM
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills
Ability to delegate multiple assignments and maintain close attention to detail
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $100,000.00 to USD $140,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
