Position Title: Program Manager for the James Patterson Honors Program

Salary: $64,000 - $68,000

Position Summary:

The James Patterson Honors Program at Manhattan University is a dynamic and growing leadership program committed to transforming students into polished leaders, ready to innovate, inspire, and change life in positive ways. We’re looking for a proactive and organized program manager to support our team by helping to coordinate events, manage social media presence, assist in advising students, and streamline internal and external communications, and supporting student recruitment. This is an in person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Event Planning & Support:
  • Coordinate logistics for internal and external events, including scheduling, venue booking, catering, and vendor communications.
  • Assist with event promotion, assessment and post-event follow-up.
  • Attend events.
• Social Media Management:
  • Create, schedule, and post engaging content across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.).
  • Monitor analytics and engagement metrics to inform content strategy.
  • Stay current with trends and best practices.
• Student Advising:
  • Maintain student records on coursework and workshop participation.
  • Work with Central Advising to monitor student progress.
  • Work with the Executive Director on developing an action plan for students failing to progress.
• Communications Coordination:
  • Draft and edit internal communications, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Maintain up-to-date contact lists and coordinate outreach.
  • Act as a liaison between departments and with external partners.
• Student Recruitment:
  • Support Executive Director with student recruitment.
  • Attend admission events by visiting high schools, tabling at recruiting events, working on promotions for new students, etc.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, business, communications or related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with social media platforms and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude.
