Job DescriptionOverall administrative responsibility for the university?s comprehensive athletic program, including strategic planning, coaches and staff supervision, budget preparation and management, external relations, including fundraising, marketing, promotions, and public relations, and an understanding and commitment to Title IX. NCAA and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference rules compliance.Minimum QualificationsMaster?s degree in Business Administration, Athletic Administration, Sports Management or related field.Five years of progressively responsible experience within an inter-collegiate institution, athletic conference, or a combination of five years of athletic administration and executive-level business administration experience.Demonstrated commitment or proven strategies for fostering a diverse and inclusive environment; demonstrated ability or proven strategies to teach and work with persons from diverse backgrounds.Must demonstrate the ability to lead and manage a complex organization that serves multiple constituencies.Evidence of skills in fiscal planning, budget management, and personnel management.Ability to communicate effectively.Preferred QualificationExperience with Division II Athletics.Administrator experience.Experience working in a collective bargaining environment.Knowledge of NCAA Rules and Regulations.Proven success in fundraising and donor relations.Other RequirementsPriority will be given to those who apply by 6/24/2025.Applications are required to include a cover letter and CV in order to be considered for this position.Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pmTelework (Yes/No)NoAboutSouthwest Minnesota State University is one of seven universities in the Minnesota State system.SMSUgives highest priority to excellence in teaching and preparing students to be lifelong learners through quality undergraduate teaching/advising and close student/faculty relationships.
