Job Overview
The Associate Director will work closely with, and report to, the Senior Director of Experiential Learning & Teaching Excellence. The Associate Director will supervise I&IP staff (2 FTE) and direct work related to short-term faculty-led study abroad, collaborative online international learning (COIL), domestic and local faculty-led travel, and partnerships with international and domestic universities and companies. The Associate Director will work closely with other units at Lindner and within UC such as UC International.
This position will have the option of a hybrid work schedule (3 days in the office/2 days work from home) for those with a residence within OH/IN/KY following 90 days of training. Residence must be in the tri-state area within reasonable distance to UC Main Campus to have ability to report to campus as required. Remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.
Essential Functions
Manage a major subdivision within a department, center or institute responsible for development, implementation and administration of goals to achieve strategic objectives; assume management responsibility for a wide range of projects/tasks associated with primary business operations and/or corporate relations with which decisions and quality of execution have significant impact and influence service delivery on a division, campus or university level.
Formulate, recommend, approve and implement internal policies, procedures, controls, and manage processes to increase internal business and/or external corporate partnerships and advance service levels; responsible for policy execution and results that enrich the department/center, the campus and the university; consults with Director on major policy changes affecting other departments; authority to grant exceptions.
May be responsible for coordinating a function or program(s) in which decisions and quality of execution have significant impact on external relations.
May be responsible for collaborating efforts with administrative and academic units (i.e., Public Relations, Academic Colleges, Foundation, etc.) to enhance business/community partnerships.
Educate/Train faculty and staff on university and college policies and procedures relating to travel with students.
Prepare reports, disseminate/interpret information, provide advice, write proposals, deliver presentations, construct contractual agreements, and ensure that all programs and services comply with university, state and federal regulations.
Communicate and assist students, academic and corporate partners to resolve questions and complex issues; represent the university internally and externally.
Assist with administrative leadership and supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff; hire, orient, train, mentor and evaluate assigned staff; monitor and coordinate staff development and training programs.
Serve on various university, division and departmental committees and may represent the department at various state and national associations; may function for the Director in his/her absence, as required.
May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree
Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement
