Key Responsibilities
Leadership Development:
Develop and implement innovative leadership programs, including the Morgan Opportunities for Leadership Development (M.O.L.D.) program and the Learning Is For Everyone (L.I.F.E.) Series.
Curate workshops, conferences, and retreats to foster leadership skills among students.
Student Organization Support:
Manage the application, approval, and training processes for new student organizations.
Provide training and guidance to student organizations in planning events, initiatives, and community service projects.
Conduct regular caucuses and leadership training for executive members of student organizations.
Ensure compliance with University policies and the Student Organization Success Points Program.
Advising & Collaboration:
Co-advise the Campus Activities Board (C.A.B.) and support the Student Government Association (SGA).
Co-Advise Greek Councils by attending weekly executive and general meetings as well as other committees and events affiliated with the Council.
Serve on the advising team for Mister and Miss Morgan State University and assist with the University Royal Court.
Act as a liaison between student organizations and University administration.
Collaborate with campus departments to enhance opportunities for student involvement.
Civic Engagement:
Oversee civic engagement initiatives, including the #MSUVotes campaign.
Lead efforts to achieve the NASPA Voter Friendly Campus Designation.
Event Management & Assessment:
Support the planning and execution of leadership conferences, summits, and student events.
Supervise students at conferences, off-campus activities, and service events.
Collect and analyze data to assess training effectiveness, event participation, and campus trends, culminating in an annual report.
Public Relations & Communication:
Create and manage marketing materials for social media and other platforms to promote programs and initiatives.
Oversee dissemination of resources and information through newsletters, event calendars, and e-blasts.
Other Duties:
Support New Student Orientation programming.
Attend professional conferences and represent the University as needed.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Student Life & Development.
