New York City College of Technology (City Tech) of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn offering associate and baccalaureate degrees, invites applications for the Director of Marketing and Communications.
The Director of Marketing and Communications will lead City Tech's marketing and communications efforts. This individual will play a crucial role in enhancing City Tech's visibility, promoting its academic programs, and engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders. Reporting to the President, the Director of Marketing and Communications will develop and implement comprehensive strategies to support the college's mission and goals.
Key responsibilities of the position will include but not be limited to:
Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that aligns with City Tech's mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
Lead and mentor a team of design, marketing and communications professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and communication strategies, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
Lead efforts to strengthen and maintain the City Tech brand, ensuring consistency across all platforms and communications.
Oversee the creation of marketing materials, including marketing collateral, advertisements, and digital content.
Develop and manage a robust digital marketing strategy, including social media and website content.
Oversee the creation and distribution of digital content (news/photo/video), ensuring it is engaging and aligns with the college's brand and messaging.
Oversee the creation and execution of both digital and print advertising campaigns.
Manage public relations efforts to enhance the college's reputation and visibility in the media.
Collaborate with stakeholders on internal communications to ensure faculty, staff, and students are informed about important updates and Initiatives.
Collaborate with departments and faculty across campus on multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Collaborate with project teams to promote major college events, including commencement, academic conferences, and community events. And work closely with event organizers to ensure effective marketing and communication efforts.
Manage the department's budget and resources effectively. Develop, track, and report on both advertising costs (budgets) and results to assure goals are met; collect and analyze data on exposure, traffic and other metrics.
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in English, Communications, Journalism or related field
Strong writing, editing, proofreading, research and organization skills
Excellent time management skills: demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan and manage multiple projects, and meet strict deadlines
A minimum of eight years of relevant experience and experience working with video production and digital media, with strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in social media
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a positive approach to management and team building

Develops overall advertising and media strategies to achieve image, awareness, enrollment, recruiting, and/or fundraising goals
Provide professional and managerial oversight of a broad range of marketing programs and tools, including digital, print, mail, broadcast, social networking, and other media
Manages and develops internal staff and external resources
Develops and analyzes key metrics of marketing effectiveness, as well as budgets and costs related to marketing programs and campaigns
Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$96,602- $119,995. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
