Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates all phases of a competitive intercollegiate football program. Understands the role of NCAA and Division III athletics in the educational process and recruits quality student-athletes who will reflect and represent the quality of Elmhurst University.
Essential Responsibilities:
Supervises and operates all phases of a competitive Division III football program.
Coordinates the recruitment of student-athletes for the football program. Contributes significantly to the enrollment effort of both the institution and the athletic department.
Prepares annual budget structure and monitors expenditures.
Maintains and updates a sufficient inventory of equipment. Selects and orders equipment and other materials needed to successfully run a program. Oversees the issuing and collecting of all equipment, uniforms, supplies, and materials.
Develops the contest schedule and coordinates all team travel arrangements.
Plans, organizes, administers, and supervises all pre-season, in-season, and non-traditional segments as allowable by NCAA bylaws.
Plans, organizes, and administers all in-season practice sessions.
Conducts all on-field coaching of the football program during intercollegiate contests.
Assigns responsibilities to and supervises all work of assistant coaches.
Counsels student-athletes and sets up both short- and long-range goals. This includes academic monitoring, academic advising, and suggesting on-campus resources to support the individuals and team.
Contributes to the retention efforts of the institution and athletic department.
Collaborates with the Director of Athletic Communications pertaining to all media relations. Provides information for the promotional needs of game programs, team media guides, recruiting brochures, and other publications.
Maintains positive public relations with the community through an assortment of events, including camps and clinics.
Provides fundraising support for the athletic department when requested by the Director of Athletics.
Initiates, promotes, and executes fundraising initiatives on behalf of the football program.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of Elmhurst University, NCAA, and CCIW rules and regulations. Adheres to NCAA compliance regulations.
Endorses and supports other sports within the Athletic Department and fulfills other secondary duties as assigned.
Interacts with all other institutional constituencies and actively participates in their events.
Performs various summer duties and special projects as assigned.
Supports the athletic department and institution’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
