Job Description
Position Purpose: The Women?s Soccer Head Coach will work under the general supervision of the Director of Athletics to recruit, coach, promote, and administrate the operation of the Riverland Community College Women?s Soccer Program. The expectations of The Head Women?s Soccer Coach are to lead a successful soccer program whose team members compete with honor and integrity while furthering the growth of the student-athlete and the Athletic Department.
ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES: The Head Women?s Soccer Coach is responsible for all aspects of the soccer program, including, but not limited to, coaching, recruiting, organizing practice and scheduling matches, game day preparation, fundraising, and monitoring student-athlete academic progress.
Develops positive relationships with faculty, staff, student athletes, media, alumni, and donors while interacting successfully with department personnel and the college community.
Conducts a women?s soccer program in compliance with allNJCAA, RegionXIIIand Riverland Community College Athletic Department rules and regulations.
Conducts the women?s soccer program in concert with Riverland Community College?s mission and goals, in which student-athletes graduate and achieve competitive success.
Processes strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Knowledge ofNJCAAregulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
Demonstrates successful fundraising skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate?s degree with 2 years experience coaching soccer OR
High School Diploma with 3-5 years coaching soccer
Knowledge of current styles and techniques and ability to demonstrate these techniques to others.
Demonstrated ability to recruit highly skilled student athletes from the area.
Experience in fund-raising and/or public relations.
Evidence of a valid driver?s license, or ability to acquire a legal driver?s license or qualify for a reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualification
Bachelor?s Degree.
Experience coaching at the collegiate level.
Knowledge of and adherence toNJCAArules and regulations.
Familiarity with recruiting and scouting software.
Familiarity with strength and conditioning philosophy and techniques.
College and/or professional playing experience.
Bilingual/multilingual fluent in Spanish, Somali, Karen, Anuak, Nuer, or other languages that reflect our student body, workforce, and communities.
Demonstrated experience working with multicultural and underserved populations.
