Required Skill/ability 2:
Demonstrated experience and ability in writing impactful internal communications that clearly articulate and engage internal audiences in an organization's mission, values, business strategy, goals, and priorities. Demonstrated ability in creating high-quality written and verbal internal messaging for executive and senior leadership.
Required Skill/ability 3:
Independent self-starter with outstanding written (editing/writing), verbal, and organizational skills and demonstrated ability to conceptualize and write compelling, high-quality content for intranets and other internal websites, newsletters, email announcements, digital signage, and other channels for a variety of audiences.
Required Skill/ability 4: Demonstrated ability to develop, execute, and measure the success of comprehensive communication plans and strategies on an ongoing basis and to summarize metrics/results to succinctly articulate the level of impact.
Required Skill/ability 5:
Proficiency with web/intranet content management systems; Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and Excel; internal communications platforms (e.g., Salesforce); and the ongoing management of email mailing lists. Ability and openness to identify and learn new technology, including YSM's content management platform (which is called Beatrix).
Preferred Education: Familiarity with survey building tools and Canva/Adobe (or other image creating/editing software). Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships with all leadership levels, faculty, and other departmental stakeholders to develop content for distribution/publication. Proficient in Associated Press (AP) style

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field and five years of experience in public relations, journalism, television, corporate communications or agency work or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience in developing communications for a range of media and working with creative professionals in design, photography or video.
