Under the direction of the Division Administrator, we are seeking a Program & Communications Specialist who will be responsible for providing communication and related administrative support to the Division of Nephrology. The Program & Communications Specialistwill work closely with the Administrative Specialist in the Division, providing communications related support for projects and operational activities. Will act as a backup to the Administrative Specialist and serve as an administrative representative to the Division as needed. TheProgram & Communications Specialist will create thoughtful and engaging content and manage projects that amplify the mission and work of the Division. The Specialist will generate and execute cross-platform communications plans, develop strategic messaging and track engagement.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate content for messaging across platforms. Establish production calendars and maintain timelines.
Develop messaging and manage social media, including engagement metrics. Coordinate with other JHU communications teams to amplify messaging.
Manage media tracking from interview request through dissemination. Manage web content.
Assist with History of Nephrology Project.
Assist Administrative Specialist with collecting and organizing data relating to Kidney Center grant.
Generate and maintain active Nephrology related lists relating, but not limited to active CV?s, computer tracking, order tracking, faculty email lists.
Help generate schedules and meetings.
Assist with any visiting faculty, creating/adjusting schedules.
Provide/act as backup to Administrative Specialist on other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, move about or sit for an extended period of time.
Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard.
Ability to see within normal parameters.
Ability to hear within normal range.
Ability to lift 25 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field.
Two years related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to write engaging content clearly and concisely. Experience with web content management.
Experience with social media and communications platforms.
Prior/working knowledge of Microsoft office software.
Experience with Graphic Design Software (Canva, photoshop)
Highly organized and detail oriented. Must be able to work independently.
Ability to manage multiple projects successfully. Proactive in anticipating communications needs.
