The Assistant Director CARE Corps will work with the ECUREI Team to ensure strong relationships with school district and community partners leading to effective CARE Corps members in the program, and high levels of service for families and students. The Assistant Director will be responsible for all duties related to CARE Corps branches of resiliency, teaching, and counseling member services and evaluation activities associated with REI's CARE Corps grant and school/community partners.

Member Compliance (35%): Responsible for a) coordination of member recruitment, selection, enrollment, and training, b) preparation and delivery of evidence-based training related to CARE Corps programming, c) conducting member check-ins and providing technical assistance for site supervisors, d) maintaining AmeriCorps member files (digital and hard copy), e) digital reporting to oversee and verify members' hours of service, f) consulting with the People Operations, Success, and Opportunity department and campus partners to ensure that members complete required criminal background checks, g) managing authorized users and monitoring data entry in OnCorps.
Marketing and Communication (20%): Responsible for a) developing and updating CARE Corps marketing and outreach information for local, state and national dissemination, b) developing and updating CARE Corps program marketing material for COE web designer to maintain the REICARE Corps website, social media, and public relations c) developing and implementing innovative member recruitment strategies, d) corresponding with members and site supervisors for recruitment and outreach, e) monitoring CARE Corps email account, voice messaging system, and social media accounts.
Member Advising (20%): Responsible for a) organizing and facilitating regular CARE Corps members and site supervisor meetings and check-in, b) maintaining meeting minutes and monitoring service plans, c) Serve as liaison with ECU Faculty Advisors in the ECU degree/licensure programs, and d) liaison with community partners and specifically K-12 partners to support and advise resiliency CARE Corps members.
Partnership Leadership (15%): Responsible for a) effective communications with program staff/community partners to ensure strong partnerships, b) disseminating REI/CARE Corps program information to local, state, and national stakeholders, c) providing technical assistance regarding CARE Corps service activities, d) developing and coordinating service training and MOUs/invoices with community partners, e) overseeing all records systems for adequacy to support the partnership, f) leading program meetings with CARE Corp team to ensure that project requirements and objectives are met on a timely basis, g) collaborating with local organizations, campuses, and partners to plan and support CARE Corps recruitment events, h) leading and planning professional development opportunities for members and staff, i) collecting and analyzing project outcomes data for members, schools, students
Grant Development and Administrative Support (10%): Responsible for a) organizing and coordinating trainings and national days of service, b) developing and updating academic resources used by members, c) documenting required and on-going member training, d) leading efforts with COEORI to process travel, supplies, and training material requests, e) collecting and analyzing data on program performance measures, f) developing quarterly and yearly reports for funding agencies and key stake holders and other duties as assigned.

Organizational Unit Overview:
The COE Rural Education Institute's (REI) Collaborative Action in Rural Education (CARE) Corps will create reasonable, resilient spaces in rural schools and communities to tutor, teach, and provide mental health support for youth and families in eastern NC. Through AmeriCorps funding, CARE Corps will support 97 AmeriCorps members who will serve as peer tutors/mentors, classroom teaching support, or mental health clinicians in Beaufort, Carteret, Edgecombe, Greene, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, Nash, Pitt, Wilson Counties. At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for serving 4,050 kindergarten through 12th grade students. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 480 volunteers who will be engaged in national days of service (9/11 Day of Service, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, National AmeriCorps Week, National Volunteer Week) and in service projects scheduled at partner agencies.
