Requirements
The Athletics Facilities Assistant is responsible for athletic field maintenance, improvement, and projects as assigned, managing operations in the absence of their supervisor and maintaining cooperation and good public relations between campus departments and Athletics stakeholders. S/he performs snow and ice removal on synthetic turf, athletics facilities patios, and entryways. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
Perform building and grounds maintenance/improvements at all athletic facilities.
Oversee the safe operation and preventive maintenance vehicles and athletics equipment, as well as hand tools to perform functions, including turf groomer, variety of lifts, utility vehicles, and variety of trucks.
Assist with the planning and implementation of preparation schedules for all athletics facility's needs.
Perform general cleaning and trash removal, turf maintenance management (natural and synthetic), field striping, gymnasium floor maintenance, irrigation operations, equipment and vehicle operation, and preventive maintenance.
Set up and tear down spaces for all varsity athletics events, authorized special events, and other university activities.
Perform work in a safe manner, securing work site and following work zone safety rules, and wearing safety equipment including glasses, boots, gloves, hearing protection, helmets, and harnesses.
Inspect work progress, materials, and equipment to verify completion of work according to specifications and standards.
Provide quality customer service and represent Georgetown University in a positive, professional, and friendly manner, maintaining good public relations with internal and external customers.
Work Interactions
At the direction of the Director, Facilities Operations and alongside additional Facilities Operations Assistants, this position must provide timely maintenance and preparation of competition and practice athletic/multipurpose fields, as well as general maintenance and preparation of other athletics facilities and offices to ensure safe conditions for staff, Student-Athletes and spectators.
Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma
Two years' experience in general park grounds, athletic facilities operations, facility maintenance, building trades, construction, maintaining park and construction equipment or closely related work
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and to lift, carry, push and pull up to 100 pounds stand for extended periods; Previous experience operating various pieces of equipment including: field striping sprayers, utility vehicles, loaders, bobcat, skid loader, or other facilities management equipment preferred
Ability to be on call 24 hours a day for emergency purposes, follow directions, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to organize equipment requirement necessary for daily jobs
Must maintain valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $17.92 - $26.80
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
