DESCRIPTION
The University of California Health Milk Bank was established to help support neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) and families in the region and the state. They do this by providing safe, pasteurized human milk that has been donated by breastfeeding parents. The University of California Health Milk Bank, operated by UC San Diego Health, is the second in California to be accredited by the Human Milk Banking Association of North America. It is the only milk bank in the nation that is part of a health care system.
This position is for our new University of California Health Milk Bank that opened in the Spring of 2020. Our goals are to help mothers breastfeed, to improve breast milk donation and to ensure that all premature or ill babies in our region have access to donor milk. Learn more by clicking Here
Under supervision, the Donor Mother Coordinator is responsible for the planning and coordination of administrative functions of the Milk Bank Facility. Serving as the key point of first contact with families and milk donors. Greeting of guests. Providing tours of the facility. Triaging multiple phone lines. Sending/receiving documents via fax, mail and/or email. Screening of potential milk donors. Communicating with physician office staff regarding donor screening needs. Uploading donor files to the hospital network and multiple donor databases. Performing quality improvement initiatives. Developing and implementing marketing and donor recruitment plans. Performing general administrative duties.Exhibiting via community outreach events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
A minimum of three (3+) years of relevant experience.
Proficient in MS Office Suite and Outlook.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to plan, establish, and maintain a professional work environment.
Must possess strong social, interpersonal interactive, and leadership skills, written and oral communication.
Advanced service orientation and attention to detail. Excellent ability to multitask with demanding time frames.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years administrative/program coordinator experience, or six (6) years of progressively responsible administrative/program coordinator experience; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Experience in healthcare and/or non-profit volunteer organization.
Experience with public relations, marketing, data collection, and database management.
Advanced MS Excel skills.
Proficiency in written and spoken Spanish.

Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $40,700 - $85,295 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $19.49 - $40.85
