Position Summary:
Provides key decision support in developing and implementing a cohesive, integrated communication strategy across multiple platforms, including social media, web, print, and digital, that tell Adams State’s story in a compelling, visually engaging and consistent manner.
Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Create content and maintain social media presence.
Remain current with social media trends.
Strategize best use of social media.
Develop and implement 3 mos/6 mos/1 year social media plans.
Serve as web editor.
Produce professional videos.
Collaborate with departments across campus in the development, implementation, and maintenance of purposeful digital content and features.
Provide support for content development, revision, and publication through multiple media across all academic and administrative areas of the institution.
Provide content management training support; help coordinate and facilitate training workshops.
Conduct ongoing usability and analytics testing of digital and off-line content used by the institution with identified constituencies.
Ensure all digital content meets accessibility standards.
Curate and administer use of the campus events calendar.
Build out and distribute monthly campus e-newsletter.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, graphic design, marketing, or similar field
Strong social media presence/following
Demonstrate ability to learn web content management system
Confidence in design software
Proficient in use of video editing software
Proficient in shooting video material
Aware of importance of accessibility for web content (training available upon hire)
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, prioritize multiple projects, set and meet deadlines
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work productively in one-on-one or group environments with diverse types of people
Proven ability to assimilate and implement new media trends and technologies
Ability to treat others with respect, civility, and courtesy and to work honestly, effectively, and collegially with employees, students, and the community. This includes the ability to use appropriate conflict management skills to effectively manage any disagreement that might arise or to bring the disagreement to management for assistance in productive resolution when the situation requires.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with publishing digital content at a professional level
One-on-one and group training experience
Proven ability to identify and adhere to best practices in social media, web publishing, including Section 508 and accessibility
Experience in graphic design, including digital photography skills
Experience working with an image database management system
Demonstrated copywriting experience in digital and non-digital formats
Bi-lingual English/Spanish
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $42,252-48,060.
