Job Overview
Under limited supervision, the Office of Pathway Innovation & Inclusive Excellence Program Coordinator is responsible for developing comprehensive programs and services to increase student preparation for college success and matriculation into medical school. This position works closely with faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners to establish important partnerships and create, develop, and implement programs that motivate and prepare students for medical school enrollment. The coordinator also collaborates with various educational institutions and community-based organizations to create a seamless pathway for students to enroll at UC College of Medicine. This position reports to the ODEI Program Manager.
Essential Functions
Design/create and conduct seminars, classes, workshops or programs.
Develop program objectives and monitor quantitative and qualitative data on progress toward objectives. Review objectives to identify problems and solutions, prioritize solutions and develop action steps for program improvement.
Provide financial administrative support for program initiatives.
Develop, administer and analyze assessment/evaluation questionnaires. Compile statistics and prepare reports.
Develop and implement marketing strategies to recruit students and program participants.
Interact with staff faculty, external agencies and other university departments.
May conduct research and analyze relevant literature, other benchmark information to develop grant proposals, new program ideas and propose program changes.
May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in education, public relations, communication, or a closely related field.
Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
One (1) year of program coordination experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Proven ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships with a variety of stakeholders, including students, educational institutions, community groups, and others.
Experience in creating impactful recruitment and promotional materials, with a focus on website and social media content.
In-depth knowledge of local public schooling systems and their structures.
Demonstrated participation in committee and community meetings, with a capacity to perform related duties as assigned.
Expertise in developing promotional and informational materials, including website content, to provide comprehensive resources for students and the community about ODEI?s Pathway programs and services.
Ability to collaborate with high school counselors and community-based organization staff to guide prospective students through the UCCOM application process.
Experience in coordinating new and innovative programs and services aimed at enhancing student preparation for medical school success.
Strong collaboration skills with educational institutions, community-based organizations, and feeder institutions to create opportunities for preparing students for the medical school enrollment process.
Possession of a valid driver?s license and the availability to work some nights and weekends as required.
