The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a Program Manager II. The Program Manager II for International Medical Education will assume full responsibility for the International Visiting Medical Student program (IVMS), operating with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities encompass the complete lifecycle of the IVMS program, including student recruitment, conducting interviews, guiding students through elective selection, application, and acceptance processes, overseeing pre-matriculation procedures, and diligently tracking revenue and expenses. Additionally, the role includes the orientation of IVMS participants.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for administratively managing a large or complex University program or multiple programs.
Provides input in the development of program plan and objectives with responsibility for achieving objectives within defined parameters.
Typically supervises small staffs and are responsible for long range planning.
Responsibilities include budgeting, networking/public relations, technical training and assistance, grant and report writing.
May handle regulatory responsibilities, contract submissions and identify research funding.
May handle event planning and oversight of construction projects.
Content Development and Maintenance: Ensuring all program materials are consistently updated. Developing relevant content as required, covering events, deadlines, and other informational needs specific to the IVMS program.
Student Tracking and Reporting: Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive tracking system for IVMS students.
Generating and sharing regular reports with the Program Director and Assistant Dean to ensure program performance metrics are met.
Communication Management: Engaging in effective verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinating and confirming course logistics and requirements.
Conflict Resolution: Interpreting, addressing, and resolving any elective or housing-related issues that students may encounter during their participation in the program.
Supervision: Overseeing and guiding support staff if necessary to ensure efficient program operation.
Vendor Coordination: Directing, monitoring, and coordinating vendor activities related to the IVMS program to ensure seamless execution.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Characteristics
Experience in Program Management/Development: A minimum of two years experience in program management and development, showcasing a proven track record of effectively orchestrating and enhancing programs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Zoom, to efficiently create, analyze, and present information. 3. Exceptional Time-Management and Organizational Skills: The ability to adeptly manage time, prioritize tasks, and maintain outstanding organization, ensuring efficiency and productivity in all endeavors.
Excellent Command of English Language and Grammar: Proficiency in written and verbal English, encompassing excellent grammar and communication skills.
Strong Facilitation and Interpersonal Skills: Proficiency in facilitating discussions and workshops, coupled with excellent interpersonal and presentation abilities. A keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving acumen are highly valued.
Collaborative Team Player: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and staff within a team-oriented environment, fostering positive working relationships and contributing to a harmonious work atmosphere.
Salary Range: $51,270 - $83,300
