The UMN MorrisOffice of Communications and Marketing is the primary means by which the University of Minnesota Morris illuminates the impact of our students, employees, alumni, and friends on our region, our nation, and our world. They do this by sharing the UMN Morris story, supporting strategic initiatives, and stewarding our brand in service to the mission of our University. The team includes public relations, graphic design, web content development, and video production.
The Office of Admissions is the primary source of information about the University of Minnesota Morris for prospective students, their families, and school counselors. The office recruits and admits students and facilitates connections to the University community. In addition, it represents and markets the campus through electronic communications and printed brochures and material regarding all phases of the institution and its policies and programs.
Working in partnership with the University of Minnesota Morris Offices of Admissions and Communications and Marketing (OCM), the Enrollment Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, creating, and implementing marketing efforts to support the recruitment and retention of undergraduate students to the University of Minnesota Morris. This position coordinates and implements marketing tactics across multiple communications platforms, including, but not limited to, print, web, social and digital mediums.
This position is also available as a Enrollment Marketing Coordinator appointment (9703MK, Marketing and Communications Professional 3 - Marketing Generalist). Qualifications and job duties will be consistent with the specifications of that classification.
Job Duties:
Plan and execute strategies aligned with and advancing the campus enrollment management plan that inspire UMN Morris constituents to engage with the university’s programs and offerings, leading to enrollment
Work with the Office of Admissions and OCM to develop and execute an annual admissions marketing plan including media planning and timelines for creating marketing and communication materials
Write, create, execute, analyze, and optimize engaging communication to prospective students throughout the enrollment funnel including supporting content development for a comprehensive communication flow through Slate/CRM
Support admissions efforts and marketing needs to promote admissions events
Manage enrollment marketing advertising and initiatives, including but not limited to digital and traditional forms of media
Build and execute retention marketing efforts, including on-campus messaging, to promote student success and outcomes to current students
Act as a point of contact and liaison with external admissions and enrollment marketing partners and vendors
Assist with the presentation and maintenance of the Office of Admissions and all enrollment-related (e.g., prospective student) web pages
Assist with coordination of photography and video production
Keep up-to-date on industry trends and best practices
Measure effectiveness and assess results of various communications, recommending improvements or changes for future communications
Actively engage prospective and current students to determine if marketing tactics are effective and determine area(s) where improvements can be made
Research and implement communication strategies to reach various secondary audiences, including families and influencers of current and prospective students
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Evidence of organizational planning and administrative skills including management of multiple projects
Strong verbal communication skills and excellent written communication ability
Ability to compile and analyze results of marketing programs or initiatives
Ability to work independently
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Required Qualifications:
BA/BS degree plus six years of related experience for Enrollment Marketing Manager, or BA/BS degree plus four years of related experience for Enrollment Marketing Coordinator
A demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
A demonstrable skill in Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office
Strong planning and organizational capabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, art or related field
Prior experience working in the field of higher education
Experience with web content management system
Experience with analyzing and using data to inform work
