About the Role: This position is dedicated to guiding prospective students through the admissions process, providing information about programs, answering inquiries, and supporting students in making informed decisions about their educational journey. The Outreach and Admissions Specialist (Recruiter) serves as a primary point of contact for prospective students, ensuring a positive and seamless experience from initial inquiry to enrollment. This position exists to recruit all student prospects including traditional, non-traditional, first-generation, and students of a diverse background. The Outreach and Admissions Specialist (Recruiter) will need to be a team player that is dependable and organized with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently while creating the desire for potential students to attend Ridgewater College. This position works directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds and fully supports the College's commitment to equity and inclusion. The home campus for this position is Hutchinson and does involve some travel.
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Implement outreach and recruitment strategies and activities to achieve enrollment goals for Ridgewater College, while also reporting, monitoring, and tracking results.
Guide new and incoming students through the admissions process and, in collaboration with advising and student services staff, through registration and matriculation.
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree and on year of related work experience
(i.e., customer service such as hospitality and/or retail, sales, recruitment, advertising, public relations, marketing, or communications)
Public speaking, written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Knowledge of post-secondary education
Experience in college recruiting and admissions
Knowledge of carrying out event planning
Other Requirements:
In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (MnSCU) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to MnSCU's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
