The Highlights:
The Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media Events Manager reports to the Assistant Dean of Budget Administration and manages all events for the college. The Events Manager plans and executes logistics for meetings, summer programs and events hosted by the college, which includes contract negotiation, vendor coordination, promotion and marketing of events. Administratively this position manages the CDM Tour program for Cinespace,supervises student workers, and provides support for student organizations. his position works closely with CDM faculty and staff to support all events.
What You'll Do:
Event Calendaring, Planning, & Promotions: Responsible for full-spectrum of event planning and execution, including facility selection and room reservations, menu planning, transportation arrangements, and RSVPs for internal and external facing events. Negotiates necessary contracts with facilities, catering, and any outside vendors. Manages catering and events budget. Maintains and updates centralized CDM calendar to include all faculty, staff, and student events hosted by CDM. Ensures promotion of events through CDM and DePaul University websites and Eventbrite. Manages promotional item requests for the college including negotiating with vendors. This position will manage over 200 events annually.
CDM Information Desks & Cinespace Tour Program: Supervise student employees by creating and updating work schedules, approving timesheets, provide training and evaluation to student workers at various information desks across the college. Responsible for the CDM Tour program, which includes regularly scheduled tours of CDM's Cinespace facility, outside group tour requests, and VIP tours. Logistics management including creation and updating of the script, online registration and check-in process, and training and supervision of tour guides.
CDM Student Organizations: Provides assistance to faculty advisors and student leaders of CDM-based Student Organizations in budget management and coordinating logistics for events and meetings. Creates and maintains a list of active student groups, including faculty advisor and executive board members. Updates promotional materials regarding involvement in student organizations, including website and print.
Summer Programming: Responsible for full slate of summer high school programming. Manages all CDM Summer Programming including application, acceptance, scholarship, and registration processes. Develops summer promotions in coordination with the school Directors, including print materials and website. Manages communications to applicants and family members before, after, and during the event, and manages catering for the all summer events.
Commencement Coordination: Represents CDM on Campus Commencement Coordinators Committee. Coordinates volunteer participation from CDM staff members for all required activities prior to and during the ceremony.
4 student workers report directly to the Events Manager who will create and update work schedule, approve time sheets and provide training and evaluation. 10-20% of the time will be spent in supervisory duties.
Manages catering and events budgets. Places catering and promotional items orders for events and conference participation.
What You'll Need:
Bachelors degree required.
Degree in public relations, marketing, advertising, management or a related field preferred.
A minimum of 2 years relevant experience required.
Experience and success working in events management preferred.

Attendance at all events may be required including those held in the evening and on the weekend. Occasional travel to Cinespace facility is required.
