Carnegie Mellon University's H. John Heinz III College's Traffic21 is seeking an Executive Director to support and carryout the vision and mission of the Institute. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about our work and who has the in-depth skills and know-how to support the Institute.
We are seeking a hands-on and innovator and someone who thrives in an exciting and challenging work environment.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Being responsible for the ongoing strategic efforts to build and expand partnerships, funding for new initiatives, maintaining current relationships as well as growing the visibility and reputation of the University, College and of Traffic21, Mobiltiy21 and T-SET.
Leading all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Traffic21 Institute and the T-SET and Mobility21 National University Transportation Centers Study and is a key driver of critical and high priority projects.
Providing strategic direction for the development and implementation of Traffi21, Mobility21 and T-SET programs, budgetary, and management policies.
Providing day-to-day initiative, leadership, and staff management of Mobility21 Traffic21 and T-SET.

You should demonstrate:
You should have strong networking, negotiations, and program management skills paired with outstanding strategic planning and implementation skills. Adaptability, excellence, and passion are vital qualities in this role.
Master's degree in Public Policy, Business Administration, Transportation Engineering, Planning or associated area
Eight (8) years of supervisory staffing experience, program management, government relations, fundraising, grant writing, corporate relations, and similar experience
Successful background check
Travel requirements: You should be able to travel both domestically and internationally and be willing to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
Funding: This is a grant-funded position.
