The University of Kansas William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications is searching for THREE talented and engaged scholars to join us as we explore the intersections of mass media, technology, digital inclusion, and audience engagement. You will join other scholars and teachers who are examining new ways to gather, verify, and disseminate information to grow trust in and use of mass media.

Appointments may be offered at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Appointment at a particular level will be based on an applicant's research/creative portfolio and teaching record. Successful applicants will have a terminal degree in journalism, mass communication, marketing, fine arts, law, or a related field. Each position is full-time, tenured or tenure-track to begin August 18, 2024.

The School carries an atmosphere of collegiality that is supportive of an environment which is diverse, interdisciplinary, and collaborative. Applicants who demonstrate teaching, research or creativity expertise in one or more of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply: Digital marketing, Sports media, Emergent media practices, Audience engagement and inclusion, Public relations, Visual communication, and Data analytics. You will have colleagues who share your excitement about working with students, discovering and testing media developments for the future, and are eager to create new ways to understand and engage audiences.

Strategic Areas: The successful candidates will engage with students to understand media of the future in one or more of our four concentrations: Digital Marketing Communications, Advertising and Public Relations; Media Arts and Production; Multimedia Journalism; and Sports Media & Society. We also are seeking scholars with an interest in research in one or more of KU's strategic research investment areas: Development Across the Lifespan, Earth, Energy + Environment, Human Experience in the Digital Age, Molecules + Medicines, and Security + Safety.
