City and Country School seeks Middle School (5th-8th grade) Coaches for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Job Description

The Coach reports to the Athletic Coordinator, and Division Director and is an integral part of the educational support team. 

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that students are in good physical condition, staying healthy, and avoiding injuries.
• Maintaining positive relationships with parents, teachers, and other school staff members.
• Scheduling practices and games, ensuring that all players are on time and prepared for practice or competition.
• Communicating with parents about progress on the team and answering any questions they may have about their child’s performance or behavior on the team.
• Providing instruction on techniques and strategies for playing particular positions within the team’s scheme of play.
• Motivating students to perform their best and work hard during practices and games.
• Evaluating students' performance during practices and games and providing feedback on areas for improvement.
• Accounting for students participation and attendance during travel for games and matches.
• Hours: 3:15 - 6pm (hours may vary)
• Pay: $45/hour head coach, $35/hour assistant coach

Requirements 

• Prior experience coaching or directing athletics in school settings is preferred
• Good organizational, people, leadership, and public relation skills
• Should be in good physical condition 
• Track record of demonstrated sportsmanship 
• Should have knowledge of the sport and/or experience playing the sport 
• Bachelor’s degree in analogous field is a plus 

• Valid First Aid, Adult and Infant CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency
