Wilmington University’s Athletics Department is currently seeking a Graduate Intern in the field of Sports Information. Wilmington is an NCAA Division II university that competes in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) and its main campus is located in New Castle, Delaware, with the WU Athletics Complex located six miles away in Newark. The athletics department sponsors 16 varsity sports.

Responsibilities:
The candidate must be a reliable worker who has in interest in a wide variety of sports:

• Assist the Coordinator of Sports Information with the promotion and publicity of all 16 intercollegiate sports, including cheerleading and esports
• Write and edit press releases, game stories, and student-athlete features
• Produce athlete publications such as game programs and graphics
• Assist with the updating of the athletics website, wildcats.athletics.wilmu.edu, using the PrestoSports web client
• Assist with video game day streaming with knowledge of Production Truck
• Be the official scorer and inputter for multiple sports using NCAA Live Stats or PrestoStats
• Maintain WilmU Athletics social media sites
• Operate computer programs including Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office programs
• Broadcasting or photography skills are a much desired plus
• Knowledge and experience capturing and editing video are a much desired plus

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, sport management, or a related field is preferred. Strong communication is required. A working knowledge of public relations and college sports is also expected.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in a collegiate sports information office, website management, and a working knowledge of stats software (PrestoStats, and/or NCAA Live Stats).

The job requires working nights and weekends, both from the office and at home. Some travel may be included (postseason, Spring Break trips).
