The Community Engagement Manager provides overall direction for HUECU's community outreach, corporate giving, financial education, and public relations. This individual has a key role in the HUECU's business development, deepening relationships within our sponsor organizations and identifying opportunities for new partnerships. The focus of this role will be to tie community engagement strategies to the HUECU's business objectives, and deliver on the organization's mission to consistently grow and improve our social impact. The Community Engagement Manager supervises and directs the ongoing activities of a team of two Community Engagement Specialists.
Position Description
Develops;
strategies to increase visibility and drive membership growth within various member segments.
future programs to support the community and creates outreach opportunities to deliver on HUECU's mission.
plans, and implements HUECU Community Outreach and Business Development strategies:
Establishes, cultivates, and strengthens relationships with key stakeholders at HUECU's sponsor organizations.
Represents HUECU as an ambassador and advocate for the brand at various community and industry events, including presentations, orientations, open houses, and benefit fairs.
Leads member volunteer groups, such as the Scholarship Review Committee and the Student Advisory Council, to promote member engagement and inform HUECU business decisions.
Conducts market analysis to identify new SEG opportunities and determine segment needs and volume potential.
Plans and manages annual corporate giving budget, including considering all donation requests and making appropriate recommendations for gifts and awards.
Identifies needs and opportunities for financial education programs within our communities and develops scalable solutions.
Expands HUECU's virtual learning resources, including comprehensive curriculum of educational webinars and robust self-serve video libraries.
Provides;
strategic direction, development, and delivery of HUECU's THRIVE Personal Finance and Education program, and develops new programs to support the community and provide outreach opportunities.
and trains HUECU staff to provide, financial education to members through presentations, personal coaching sessions, and other educational events.
Leads public relations efforts to maximize brand value of HUECU's community engagement efforts, using all available marketing channels:
Creates communications and content to promote and create awareness of existing and new community engagement efforts (i.e. blog posts, articles, press releases).
Serves as the key point of contact for media, sponsor organizations, and other business relationships.
Oversees the;
scheduling, promotion, execution, and measurement of financial education events and activities.
delivery of events and community engagement programs.
Collaborates with colleagues across HUECU to create support for various initiatives and promote communication and engagement among internal teams.
Organizes and directs events for employees, including both business related and social activities.
Responsible for effective staff management, including hiring and orientation, training and development, workflow and performance management, and the promotion of an inclusive and innovative work environment on the community engagement team.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of HUECU products, services, and policies.

Basic Qualifications
Basic Qualifications are the minimum threshold a candidate must meet to be considered for this role.
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of one year supervisory experience required
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a marketing or directly related role required

Interviews for this position may be conducted via telephone & Zoom video conferencing, based on the department's current presence on campus.
Harvard University Employees Credit Union (HUECU) is an on-campus community, and all positions are based in Boston and Cambridge.
The majority of jobs at HUECU are hybrid remote/office. During the initial 90-day training period, new employees may be expected to work in the office more frequently, up to full-time. The regular schedule will be on site a minimum of 2 times per month. When appropriate, remote work must be performed in a state in which Harvard is registered (MA, ME, NH, RI, VT). Additional details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
