A qualified individual is needed for a full-time research assistant position with the Prevention Research Center at the George Warren Brown School of Social Work. The research assistant will spend the majority of their time assisting in a project funded by National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute. They will work as part of a team and individually to perform duties and responsibilities required to meet project needs. Primary responsibilities for this position include assisting in the day-to-day activities of study, including evaluation activities, data collection and analyses, and development of reports and other products. The research assistant may travel out of state one to two times per year.
Job Description
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions):
Take primary responsibility for coordinating components of project plans, specifically development andimplementation of data collection, management, and analysis protocols. Make decisions regarding planningand implementation of these project plans.
Review, analyze and synthesize existing literature and translate results of the literature review into'everyday' language for mass audiences.
Coordinate the maintenance and tracking of databases and other project tracking tools.
Actively disseminate project findings: prepare summaries, present at scientific conferences, participate in preparation of manuscripts. Contribute to major sections or develop whole products as a result of project plans.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
Will be remotely in St. Louis, with option to work in an office setting at the Brown School on the Danforth Campus based on employeeâ™s preference. Occasional required work/meetings in office setting at the Brown School on the Danforth Campus. Occasional domestic travel will be a required component of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
Masterâ™s degree in public health, social work, social sciences, or other related field.
Experience performing literature search, summary, and analysis.
Experience with writing research/evaluation reports.
Experience with data collection and analysis (qualitative/quantitative).
Experience with data analysis software.
Experience with dissemination and implementation research.
Experience designing and conducting public presentations.
Understanding and knowledge of public health terminology.
Proficient computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated superior writing and editing skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
Highly dependable and organized.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including faculty, staff, students, public affairs, and health and news organizations.
Strong analytic skills and the ability to think strategically and programmatically.
Ability to represent the project effectively with scholars, students, and community groups.
Ability to work independently or as a part of a team and exercise outstanding judgment.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a complex organizational environment.

Salary Range
$16.76 - $28.51 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
