POSITION SUMMARY:
This digital advertising specialist position is a position apart of our Minority Development Internship Program. This program is focused on lifting up those from historically underrepresented groups. This position is a yearlong with potential to renew up to two years. The goal of this program is to provide the incumbent with the skills and resources to move into a full-time position at Duquesne University.
Under the guidance of the Director of Advertising, collaborate with the Division of Marketing & Communications (DMC) marketing managers and coordinate efforts with third party advertising agencies to assist in the creation of effective outreach campaigns. The ideal candidate will work alongside the Director of Advertising to help develop strategic advertising campaigns that drive an increase in brand awareness and enhance prospective student interest in the University.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In consultation with the Director of Advertising, develop, implement, and track digital advertising campaigns.
Collaborates with internal teams and campus partners (e.g. DMC marketing managers and school marketing liaisons) to develop and monitor strategic marketing & advertising initiatives. Assists the Director of Advertising in analyzing and reporting on the performance and efficiency of campaigns to guide optimization. Experience in Google Universal Analytics, advertising dashboards and/or Tableau preferred.
Reviews and assists with updating main website/landing pages within content management system (CMS). Willingness to learn new CMS & participate in GA4 trainings as needed. Supports keyword and market research and analyze trends to identify new marketing opportunities.
In consultation with the Director of Advertising, work with design team in the creation of digital ads, including banner and display advertisements ensuring brand guidelines are met.
Coordinates with external agencies and vendors to assist in the execution of advertising plans.
Completes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
General knowledge and use of various marketing and analytics tools such as Google Ads, Google Analytics, and content management systems.
Solid analytical skills and interest in data analysis.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Skilled in writing and editing content with an attention to detail.
Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills.
