Position Information This position is needed to enhance our event management process and provide greater support to the campus community. The Sr. Events Manager at the Highlander Union Building (HUB) will be responsible for the oversight and management of events taking place across the Highlander Union Complex (HUB, Student Success Center, outdoor areas and some academic spaces). Under the supervision of the Director of the Highlander Union Building, this position will collaborate with other members of the HUB Scheduling team to assist students, staff and faculty with event reservations through EMS, event set ups, multimedia, logistics and day-of event management.
The Highlander Union Building hosts a variety of events for the campus community, including daily meetings, conferences, Chancellor-level events and major concerts. This position works alongside two other Sr. Events Managers and one Events Specialist to provide direct advisement to student organizations. This team will also liaison with campus departments and public organizations that utilize HUB facilities.
The HUB Scheduling team utilizes a rotational schedule of responsibility to balance out operations and to become familiar with all operations of the HUB. In addition to events, the HUB Scheduling team manages the RSO Food Tent Fundraising program, non-academic events in academic spaces, outdoor locations, scheduling policies, oversight of HUB Student Marketing and Scheduling positions and day-of event support. This position is critical to the success of our operations and serves the entire campus community.
The full salary range for $61,800.00 - $110,000.00 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is $61,800.00 - $70,560.00 or up to $70,560.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles and practices of event planning and public relations, including event design, organization and production. Demonstrated organizational and project management skills to work successfully with clients to produce high quality events that meet client needs and appropriately represent the campus; that is, for fundraising events, skills to provide excellent donor stewardship. Ability to effectively work with invited guests, donors, government officials and university VIPs. Experience maintaining a high standard of productivity within a broad scope of responsibility despite frequent interruptions. Ability to complete large volume of diverse tasks efficiently, meeting established deadlines. Highly developed judgment, decision-making and problem recognition/avoidance/resolution skills, including skill in determining those issues/problems that need to be brought to management's attention. Highly developed interpersonal communication skills including political acumen and social perceptiveness. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse populations with competing priorities. Proven ability to work on several tasks simultaneously.
