Job Description:
Curry College is hiring a part-time Associate Lecturer to teach multiple in-person sections of AC 1030: Technical Communications. The fall semester courses begin on August 28, 2023 and will conclude as late as December 17, 2023. It is expected that teaching responsibilities for these sections would occur on Wednesdays and Fridays between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. at the College's Milton, MA campus.
AC 1030 - Technical Communications - 3 credits Course Description
A foundation course combining communication and technology history, theory and practice. Covers the basics of utilizing and assessing a variety of digital resources. Students acquire and apply the communication skills and technologies that are integral to academic and career success. New and emerging communication technologies that aid in developing communication skills, such as persuasion and communication delivery to varied audiences, will be discussed.
Part-time faculty are responsible for planning and presenting the material assigned for their courses; establishing specific requirements and informing students of the requirements; grading examinations and projects; submitting grades and early alerts in a timely fashion; explaining grades to students; and utilizing Canvas as the learning management system. Part-time faculty are expected to be available to interact electronically with students outside the classroom as well as to hold requisite office hours.
Requirements:
A minimum of a Master's Degree in a relevant discipline is required for classroom teaching. A terminal degree in a relevant discipline is preferred for those teaching at the graduate level. Significant and relevant professional experience in a relevant discipline may be substituted for candidates who have earned degrees from disciplines not related to those offered by Curry College's School of Business and Computer Science. Prior teaching experience preferred.
