MassBay Community College seeksqualified part time instructors for future semesters to teach beginning andentry level course offerings including Introduction to Communication,Introduction to Mass Media, Intercultural Communication, Oral Communication,Fundamentals of Public Relations, and/or Journalism, across our three campusesin Wellesley, Framingham, and Ashland.

The idealcandidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching and promoting success among adiverse student population. The candidate is expected to commit toexcellence in teaching and learning, collaboration and professionaldevelopment. Adjunct faculty areexpected to deliver course materials in a learner-centered environmentconductive to engaging students in the learning process. The faculty member inthis position communicates consistently and effectively with students, facultyand administrators, and responds to communications within a 24 hour period oftime. The faculty is responsible for managing this course through timelygrading of assignments, providing substantial student feedback withassignments, and submission of clinical evaluations, attendance and grades.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Prepare syllabi and develop curricula to address course/program requirements and student learning outcomes to meet graduation competencies as appropriate;
• Use appropriate assessment methods consistently and regularly to measure student understanding;
• Maintain excellent communication with students, department and division staff throughout the semester;
• Engage in professional development activities to maintain excellence in teaching and learning;
• Submit midterm and final grade reports, attendance records, early alerts, and other reports pertaining to assigned courses by required due dates;
• Carry out other related duties as assigned by the Dean consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement;
• Connect students with college resources to help with their success.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Communication or related field;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Community College experience preferred;
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body;
• Demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to promote and evaluate student learning;
• Demonstrated ability to use information technology effectively.

Salary Range: $1,132.00 - 1,367.00 DCE Per Credit
