The Assistant Athletic Director for Communications is responsible for dissemination of information pertaining to the promotion and performance of the athletic department. The Assistant AD for Athletic Communications will serve as the primary communications liaison for all 15 intercollegiate sports and spirit squads, including daily contact with coaches and student-athletes; while responsible for the compilation of statistics, records, development of story ideas and interviews. This position also serves as the primary contact for website content, video production and social media content. Position acts as the public relations agent for the Athletic Department internally and externally.
Develop the media plan for each sport on an annual basis to include story development, content production and event operations. Event operations include(s) staffing of all home athletic events (table staff,stats, public address and video production, etc.).
Serves as the point person for the Pace Sports Network, overseeing staffing, setting up and producing live event broadcasts, highlight editing and video feature creation.
Acts as the primary producer of the Pace Sports Network, utilizing equipment, graphic packages and production software to live stream events.
Maintains updated content for PaceUAthletics.com and and various social media platforms.
Assist in developing promotional content for sports publicity; including organizing annual headshot and team photography shoots for each sports team.
Works on delegating content for season recaps for the Year End Athletics Annual Report.
Cultivate and hire interns from the educational departments, with assistance from Assoc. AD.
Maintains, organizes and updates all historical records and photo files for the department.
Assists with content production and event operations of special departmental programs such as the senior awards. golf outing(s) and hall of fame.
Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Bachelors degree, Masters preferred.
At least two years experience in media relations/sport information with supervisor experience preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Office.
Experience preferred with media relations and game day operations for football, Sidearm Sports website content management, video production such Production Truck/Blue Frame, various stat inputting platforms including stat crew, Prestosports and NCAA Live stats.
Pace University Athletics is a member of NCAA Division II, competing within the Northeast-10 Conference (NE10). Pace Athletics sponsors 15 intercollegiate sports, along with cheer and dance teams and a Pep Band. Known as the Setters, Pace’s official mascot is known as T-Bone. In 2021-22, Pace student-athletes posted a cumulative grade point average of 3.33. Additionally, a total of 562 Setters were selected to the NE10’s Academic Honor Roll with 69 student-athletes earning Academic Excellence with 4.0 semester GPAs. Twenty two student-athletes earned NE10 President’s Award for Academic Excellence, recognizing graduating student-athletes who have attained Magna Cum Laude at their institution, have participated in at least two seasons of NE10 competition and are current student-athletes at the time of graduation.
