Description:
This position works with the leadership of the Vice Provost for Academic Programs and Effectiveness (VPAPE) to oversee the creation, implementation, and evaluation of project and/or programs that impact academic programs, assessment, academic policy and effectiveness to increase student success at the university. Under minimal supervision , and in collaboration with VPAPE units and other appropriate constituents both within and outside of the university, the Assistant Director will facilitate the implementation of projects. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for reporting progress of all projects to the Director, Vice Provost, and others as required. This position will also maintain the websites related to their dedicated projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
Identify, evaluate and assess research literature on a variety of high-impact practices related to student success.
Collect and analyze data related to dedicated academic program initiative projects.
Meet and collaborate regularly with individuals and committees tasked with creating, implementing and evaluating campus-wide initiatives.
Create, follow through with, assess, and revise detailed work plans, identifying specific activities needed to successfully complete projects such as the Curricular Analytics project, Collaborative Agreements, and Guaranteed Transfer Pathways between area community colleges and the university.
Ensure scope and direction of projects aligns with university goals.
Represent the university when communication with outside groups and agencies, which may include needs analysis surveys, securing philanthropic funding for projects, or meeting with experts in subject matter from other universities, is necessary within the scope of a project.
Establish and maintain a communication schedule to update progress to a variety of stakeholders and ensure deadlines are met.
Draft proposals and maintain established project management reports, including information posted to the various project websites.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree required. Minimum of two years of project management or related experience. Strong communication and public relation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access).
Preferred Qualifications Project management experience in higher education or related fields preferred. Good understanding of key issues involved in undergraduate student success preferred.
