Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm
Job Summary: The Regional UA Admissions Advisor serves as the field representative for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for an assigned regional area. Provide leadership in identifying & enrolling undergraduate students. Serve as primary contact with local high school guidance counselors and principals. Coordinate recruiting efforts with local alumni chapters. Identify prospective qualified undergraduate students in the region. Plan student receptions and counselor briefings.
Additional Department Summary: Serve as recruiter for Mississippi and Louisiana. Candidate is expected to reside in the Jackson, MS or New Orleans, LA metropolitan areas.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in student recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, communications, education, or counseling. Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented experience will be considered. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier. The capability to stand for long periods of time and to lift and carry large quantities of sometimes heavy recruitment materials.
Skills and Knowledge: The ability to work with different cultures and groups of people. Basic desktop computing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Poise
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in business, public relations, marketing, communications, education, counseling is preferred.
