Creates and supports UChicago Creative web projects from conception to implementation in partnership with 2 Project Managers.
Creates web projects front-end design in custom branded WordPress templates.
Guides, plans, and assigns 2-3 freelance web designers on web projects front-end design in custom branded WordPress templates.
Designs and creates supplemental digital designs for websites, such as icons, photos, and logos.
Ensures consistent internal process that may include developing sitemaps, creating wireframes, and website implementation.
Partners with Information Technology Services (ITS) and University Website Senior Specialist to evolve departmental offerings consistent with industry best practices.
Stays up-to-date with industry developments best practices.
Offers website guidance and support to campus partners that adhered to ITS standards and industry best practices.
Conceptualizes and creates graphic artwork, such as charts, graphs or illustrations, for various publications, advertising materials and/or customers with limited supervision.
Uses on-the-job experience to complete a variety of assignments, such as coordinating production support with outside vendors, as needed.
Performs other related work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in digital design, information technology, or a related field.
Experience:
A minumum of three years of front-end web design experience or other related experience.
Communications in higher education or non-profit a plus.
Page Builder experience.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
Extensive experience in WordPress web design.
Sitecore experience is beneficial.
Deep knowledge of digital accessibility best practices.
Proficient in WordPress, Sitecore, Drupal, and Divi platforms strongly preferred.

Visual skills focusing on digital products to determine how a website looks, feels and operates.
Excellent knowledge of web design disciplines and user experience.
Experience with web design adhering to formal brand guidelines.
