We seek to fill multiple openings for Admission Officers and Senior Admission Officers in the Office of Undergraduate Admission.
Admission Officers and Senior Admission Officers are responsible for the following:
â—Â Â Â Â Â Reading and evaluating applications for admission;
â—Â Â Â Â Â serving as voting members of the Board of Admission during the selection process;
â—Â Â Â Â Â developing regional recruitment strategies;
â—Â Â Â Â Â conducting group information sessions for prospective students and families;
â—Â Â Â Â Â representing the university at high schools and community based organizations, admission workshops, college fairs, and Introduction to Brown and Brown Near You events, virtually and in-person and;
â—Â Â Â Â Staffing yield events and assisting Assistant and Associate Directors with special projects pertaining to the recruitment, evaluation and matriculation of students.
This is a dual graded position posting. The candidate's qualifications/experience will determine if the position is filled at theÂ Â Admission Officer or Senior Admission OfficerÂ level.
Senior Admission Officer
Education and Experience:
2 years of college admission experience, preferably at a highly selective institution
Education and Experience:
Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong writing and public speaking skills
Sensitivity to concerns of people of different ages and backgrounds
Willingness and ability to work both independently and with groups
Creativity, efficiency, flexibility, open-mindedness, good judgment
Ability to work long hours
Ability to travel
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
First-hand knowledge of major issues facing American colleges and universities
Understanding of Brown and its academic standards
Capacity to relate easily and appropriately with a broad range ofÂ people
Understanding of public relations and social media
Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in anÂ inclusiveÂ environment
