The Agency of Transportation is seeking a State Aviation Operations Manager to oversee and manage various state-owned airports. Duties include budget development, grant management, program development, monitoring and tracking functions, equipment purchase, lease management, vegetation management, and snow and ice control level of service. The Manager will interpret and enforce laws, rules, and regulations for the operation of airports, and will be responsible for inspection of airports in the State Airport System. Incumbent will coordinate airport functions, to include the maintenance and operation of air navigational aids and systems, communication systems, and weather observing systems. Additionally, the Manager will establish and maintain sound public relations with users of state airports and local and community groups, promoting and encouraging use of such airports by the public.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree AND two (2) or more years of experience at, or with commercial, or passenger airports which may include responsibility for planning, engineering, construction, operations and maintenance, INCLUDING one (1) year of experience in general airport administration and/or operations, such as compliance programs, airport inspection programs, community relations, marketing, airport management or commercial pilot/flight instruction.
OR
Six (6) or more years of experience at, or with commercial, or passenger airports which may include responsibility for planning, engineering, construction, operations and maintenance, INCLUDING one (1) year of experience in general airport administration and/or operations, such as compliance programs, airport inspection programs, community relations, marketing, airport management or commercial pilot/flight instruction.
