Summary
The Graduate Intern for Social and Intramural Programs is a 12-month 30 hour/week program coordinator position expected to start in July 2022. The Graduate Intern serves as member of the Center for Student Engagement team, supporting student leadership development and facilitating a variety of co-curricular learning opportunities in partnership with student clubs and organizations.
Essential Functions:
Student Engagement Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary adviser to the social and recreational clubs on campus.
Coordinate the Intramural Program schedule and marketing with the Assistant Director of the Center for Student Engagement.
Assist in the supervision of an undergraduate intern (work study students) alongside the Assistant Director of the Center for Student Engagement.
Coordinate field space and availability with Athletics for weekly intramural events.
Assist in planning efforts of the Summer, Fall, and January New Student Orientation programming.
Assist in hiring process for student leadership positions on campus (Orientation Leaders, Resident Assistants, and Pride Guides).
Support student engagement through recruitment and promotion of events hosted by the Center for Student Engagement.
Attend professional development opportunities as a staff member of the Center for Student Engagement, including the regional National Association of Campus Activities conference.
Assist with the coordination and management of club and organization events, CSE evening and weekend events, and traditional college-wide events (i.e., Welcome Week, Student Club Fair, Christmas Tree Lighting, and Spring Week).
Assist with the coordination to support partnering centers and departments with events such as Regalos with the Center of Ministry & Service, ResLife, and the Center of Inclusive Excellence.
Coordinate the social media presence for the Center for Student Engagement with the Assistant Director of the Center for Student Engagement.
Assist in managing CSE’s internal social programming calendar and display in office.
Support the outreach, public relations, and advertising efforts for the CSE.
Perform other related duties as required.
Residence Life Responsibilities:
Train in incident management and crisis protocol with the Office of Residence Life and Housing.
Serve as a member of the professional staff on duty (PSOD) rotation. Rotation consistency is variable and agreed upon at the beginning of each semester. Responsibilities include:
Responding to on-campus issues or concerns as they arise, facilitating a response with the appropriate parties, and serving as support staff to resident assistants and Campus Police wherever needed.
Communicating with the appropriate offices on campus regarding the welfare of residents.
Completing and distributing the duty log by 9 am for weekday duties.
Participate in regular Residence Life meetings, including Tuesday morning staff meetings and any trainings related to on-call policies or procedures.
Requirements:
Internship applicants must be accepted, provisionally or fully, into an eligible graduate program.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to uphold the University’s commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.
Interest/Experience in higher education, leadership development and event management.
A positive attitude and an understanding of the importance of being open-minded and flexible.
Proven experience in managing projects and people.
Proficiency in social media platforms.
A valid driver’s license desirable.
Considerable evening and weekend hours required.
Stipend & Benefits:
$6,000 stipend (12-month).
Free room and full meal plan.
Tuition remission for two (2) eligible Regis graduate courses/semester, with a maximum of six graduate courses (18 credits) per academic year.
The following campus-based programs are eligible for tuition remission: 30 credits of MA in Strategic Communication, 60 credits of MA in Counseling (24 credits are not covered by tuition remission. The supervised field experience must be completed after the graduate intern role is complete.), and 33 credits of MS in Health Administration.
The following fully online programs quality for tuition remission on a space-available basis: 36 credits of MEd in Student Success, 39 credits of MS in Accountancy (3 credits are not covered by tuition remission.), 42 credits of Master of Public Health (6 credits are not covered by tuition remission.), and 30 credits of Master of Social Work.
Courses in the graduate Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Applied Behavioral Analysis, and Doctor of Education programs are not eligible for tuition remission.

NOTE: This is a 12-month position, with the opportunity to continue the position for one additional 12-month term (2 academic year maximum).
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc.
Occasional exposure to extreme noise at campus events.
Requires occasional work outside during events.
May spend extended periods at terminal, on telephone, or operating other office machines, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
This is a live-in position.
