The Office of Development is looking for a Development Associate to join its team! This position directly reports to the Senior Director of Development & Student Life. Development Associate provides support for various development projects and activities. Develops communication tools. Manages databases. Tracks, reports, and analyzes data. Administers budgets. Prepares reports and proposals.
Job Accountabilities:
Assists in the administration and implementation of fundraising programs on campus and around the country. Works with marketing and public relations to successfully organize fundraising events.
Develops donor acknowledgement and recognition procedures; writes acknowledgement letters. Assists with the creation and implementation of fundraising strategies. Ensures work is done in a confidential manner.
Assists with administration, design, and implementation of annual solicitations. May prioritize solicitation of prospects and/or maintain personal contact with major donors. Tracks and analyzes results of development activities. Helps train and mentor volunteers. Coordinates development committees.
Researches grant sources and submits proposals. May research, visit and cultivate prospective donors to annual fund.
Manages and drafts donor gift acknowledgements and other mailings; analyzes past responses. Proactively identifies opportunities to communicate with donors and alumni. Manages communication between staff and university (e.g., academic departments, interdisciplinary programs, research centers). Prepares and distributes reports (e.g., funding, endowed funds).
Preferred Education:Â Bachelor's degree
Preferred Experience: 3 years
Preferred Skills:Â Development experience in higher education. Volunteer experience in fundraising, campaign or non-profit environments. Experience with email marketing, website development/coding and Adobe Creative Suite. Extensive customer service experience. Fluent in one or more language in addition to English (e.g., Spanish).

The hourly rate range for this position is $31.90 - $35.29.
